We have been in our church for just over a year. We are working hard with an older congregation to help them see the benefits of youth ministry. God sent a young man our way to a few weeks ago. He is fantastic.
I know that his being at our church is a tremendous asset. We really want to keep him. We are providing
Individual health insurance for him.
Do you guys find that providing insurance for his wife would be…

I heard someone say to me one time "Keep It Simple Stupid"! I can't help but wonder if God is sitting in heaven wanting to say the same thing to us. We have over complicated this being a Christian thing. As believers we get rapped up in this world of "christian talk" and speak in terms and phrases that we only use on Sundays, you know what I mean! We quickly forget where we came from...also we kind of put a doormat at the door and say you have to clean up your life before we let you in. This is…

I remember when I started out in youth ministry, I was on fire for God. We would stay up all night having prayer meetings and never missed a time to worship or hear teaching on the word. I remember a few buddies and myself telling people we were "Jesus Freaks", yep "Jesus Freaks". That was around the time DC Talk had released that song. We wouldn't just soak up the experience either we were acting on the voice of God and being led by the Holy Spirit. You know that little tug at your heart or tho…

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that comes unto God by him…. (Hebrews 7:25).
The Lord Jesus is totally committed to you irrespective of what you may have done. This truth may however be difficult for some people to accept because they feel guilty over certain things in their lives. Peter felt this way after Jesus died and his guilt almost consumed him.
Before the master died, He told peter he would deny Him three times. “No even if I have to die with you! I will never de…

Who's heard of revelation generation? It's an intense festival where many mainstream artists are brought and share their faith and rock out. Artists like Leeland, Kutless, Chris Tomlin, The Devil Wears Prada, Skillet, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red and more go and play there on 3 stages!
Hopefully I get to go. I would love to but at the hardcore stage poeple go crazy and start throwing soda cans, posters, "no moshing zone" signs all over the place.

The Xtreme Winter Conference in Gatlinburg, TN. was awesome. Over 500 Salvation decisions and 80 plus youth were called into the youth ministry at the conference. Tony Nolen and Dr. Ergun Caner spoke. Check-out the videos of Dr. Caner under the media section. Dr. Caner has a great tesstimony to deliver to young people.

Think About It—
God’s Word is alive! (Hebrews 4:12)
Read About It—
Luke 8:4-15
You have to love the old story of Jack and his “magic beans.” The kid and his mom are down to nothing and Jack’s mom sends Jack into town to trade the family cow for some food. Been there…well, not exactly—with the cow and everything—but scraping to come up with enough money to buy lunch or put gas in the car. Then Jack, obviously not a very bright kid, meets this guy on the side of the roa…

Heroes
Have any recurring dreams? I do. All my life I've dreamed I could fly. Honest. I've flown over cities, lakes, oceans, mountains, valleys, parks...you name it--100s of times. And each time it's the same: I wake up exhilarated. I love dreaming I can fly.
I also…

Hello Everyone,
I hope that you are wrapping up a very productive year for your families, your ministries, and your own goals and efforts in life.
Just a few lines to encourage you today.
I'd love to help you to see the value in creating a great network of friends who are also serving in youth ministry.
My wife and I began this process early on in our 15 or so years of being full time YPs. At first, we rode on the coattails of relationships that our mentors had and were able to go places with th…

The birth of Conner has been a special day for me as a father because today I held my boy, my son. As I write this journal entry in the silence of our hospital room late at night, I got an unexpected lump in my throat. In the privacy of my thoughts I found myself regressing to my own c…

No doubt about it: Christmas is a magical season. Short-lived though it may be, the Christmas Spirit transforms our lives and communities each year in a way that no other holiday even comes close to doing. Among those transformations is one you may have never thought of: The ability to talk and sing openly about Angels—without baseball, ridicule, or straight jackets being involved. And while we are all familiar with the Herald Angels We Have Heard Singing from On High, Luke mentions three encoun…

Youth ministry from ground zero!
Ok, it is Wednesday morning and i am putting the finishing touches on my sermon for Thrive youth tonight! Today is always a great day! The anticipation of the service, the preparation for all the festivities and I get to do this once a week! Tonight i am teaching on giving, as we are in the Christmas season and everyone is so intent on shopping for gifts. i suspect that most are shopping as much for themselves as they are for others! Giving is much more than just…

Got any kids like this in your youth group? :-)
Of course, now that my wife and I both have Palm Centro smart phones, it is tempting to "surf the net together" even when we are on our regular date night.
Yes, I suppose we're both addicted to our toys.
Sad?

A long time ago in a land far, far away, a small of community of roughly 6,000 youth church leaders would gather monthly to go behind the scenes and take an in-depth look at some of the most unique youth ministries around the globe. Quaint as it may sound, we used an ancient technology called an e-newsletter (named "ProFiles") to make this happen. Then one day, ProFiles just went away...and so did it's YouthChurch.com.
It was a sad day.
But once again, the 0s & 1s are beginning to align. A…
